• Neuschwanstein Castle (The Fairy-Tale Castle) - Rising from the Bavarian woods this beautiful castle is the blueprint for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

• Berlin Wall - On August 13, 1961 the cityscape of Berlin changed along with the minds of the whole world. The Berlin Wall, built to stop East Berliners escaping symbolized the division of the world into two hostile camps; today the remainder stands as a symbol of how we can overcome.

• Sylt and the other German Islands - Most don’t think of islands when speaking of Germany but with picturesque lighthouses, laid-back atmosphere, great surf and serenity, these islands are a must for scenery and relaxation.

• Aachen Cathedral - Completed in stages between the 8th and 19th, the Aachen Cathedral reflects all the aesthetic tendencies ever adopted throughout ages. Inspired by the churches of the Eastern Holy Roman Empire, it is the oldest cathedral in northern Europe  and is frequently referred to as the "Imperial Cathedral". For 600 years, from 936 to 1531, the Aachen chapel was the church of coronation for 30 German kings and 12 queens.

• Upper Middle Rhine Valley - With over 30 castles, fortresses, and palaces it is well worth the drive or even better cruise along the Rhine River.  A significant transport routes in Europe, the Middle Rhine Valley has always facilitated the transition of culture between the Mediterranean and the north.

• Cologne Cathedral - The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and has the second-tallest spires and largest façade of any church in the world.  The Cologne Cathedral or Dom, is on the UNESCO World Heritage list took around 600 years to complete.

• Trier - This oldest German town with 2000 years of history; Trier was home to six Roman emperors and has therefore inherited a number of impressive ancient remnants.

• Europa-Park - Located near the borders of Germany, France and Switzerland, Europa-Park is the largest seasonal theme park in the world, where the highs of the most beautiful European countries can be experienced hands-on. 

• Weihenstephan Brewery - World's oldest brewery carries on 1,000 years of tradition. The brewery was originally founded by a  Benedictine monastery in 740 AD by a monk, Weihenstephan hasn't changed much over the centuries.

• Brandenburg Gate - Due to its history the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin is worth a visit. Built in the late 1700’s it has been a witness to many changes in Berlin over the years. With the fall of the wall in 1989, the gate was televised worldwide when people flocked to the reopened  Brandenburger Gate and celebrate.

• Miniatur Wunderland - This is the largest model railway in the world with 1300 square meter surface area of a total of 13 kilometres of track are in 1:87 scale. A description can not give it the Miniatur Wunderland justice and if you are visualizing the train set you had as a kid, get it out of your mind. Make sure you allow yourself a few hours for this visit.
