Who is the Traveling Kilt?
Well, that is me, Gerry MacPherson of Rhapsody Tours. This may sound corny but traveling is in my blood. My father was in the Royal Canadian Air Force so our family traveled a fair share while I was growing.
So, Why the Kilt?
Both my parents were of Scottish legacy so when I began my tour career over two decades ago in Nova Scotia, (Latin for New Scotland), Canada, I decided to celebrate my heritage to invested in a kilt to wear while conducting tours in Halifax.
Over the next few years I expanded my areas of tourism travel throughout Canada and then the world. Many of my travels included formal or tour ending farewell events so instead of packing suits, I choose to bring my kilt.
My kilt has seen many corners of our amazing planet.
I was first referred to as The Traveling Kilt in the late 90’s by one of my clientele.
Why the interested in Canada?
For me, that is a no brainer! I grew up traveling around and living in many regions of Canada. I have seen many places most Canadians don’t even know exist. It is an amazing country, with huge diversity and it is my pleasure to share its secrets.
Why Germany?
My wife, Sandra was born and raised in Germany. So, we have taken the opportunity to visit every region of this historical land. The more I see, the more I wish to.
I hope this makes sense and you enjoy and comment on our updates.
